About the School

The Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) is an autonomous institute under the University Grants Commission. Experimental Nuclear Physics has been one of the theme areas of research ever since the commissioning of accelerator facilities at IUAC in 1990. It has many state-of-the-art experimental facilities to facilitate fundamental research in the fields of experimental nuclear reactions and nuclear structure. National Array of Neutron Detectors (NAND), General Purpose Scattering Chamber (GPSC), Heavy Ion Reaction Analyzer (HIRA), HYbrid Reaction Analyzer (HYRA), and Indian National Gamma Array (INGA) are the major facilities. IUAC conducts School on Nuclear Reactions every alternate year for the benefit of young researchers. This year IUAC is organizing Nuclear Reaction School 2023 in offline mode during Sept 21 - Sept 27, 2023. There will be lectures on low energy nuclear reactions delivered by eminent speakers from India and abroad. The school covers relevant topics in both theoretical and experimental aspects of Nuclear Reactions. Interested participants (students pursuing PhDs, post-doctoral fellows, young faculties, and scientists from Indian Institutes and Universities) working in the field of nuclear reactions or allied fields are requested to apply before the closing date.
