School on Characterization of Materials Engineered by Ion Beams: Transport, Structure, and Spectroscopy
12th to 15th May 2026
  • About the School

Ion Beam have proven to be a strong tool to engineered materials for there potential applications in view of the same this school will be focused on characterization of materials engineered using ion beams, with a specific attention to electrical transport, structure and spectroscopy techniques. The program will cover the fundamentals of ion-matter interactions and their influence on transport properties, structural evolution, and spectroscopic responses. Transport measurements will be discussed to understand charge transport and interface effects, while structural analysis will be emphasized to probe phase, crystallinity, thickness, and interfaces. Spectroscopic techniques will be introduced to investigate electronic structure, defect states, and chemical bonding, and to correlate these signatures with ion-beam-induced modifications. Along with expert lectures, the School will include hands-on experimental sessions, providing practical experience in characterization techniques and data analysis.
