About IUAC

Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) was set up by the University Grants Commission as the first Inter- University Centre (IUC) called Nuclear Science Centre after due approval of the Planning Commission and the Prime Minister in October 1984. In the quest for innovation & capacity building in the areas of accelerator- driven research, IUAC is India’s premier laboratory for university researchers. Our vision is to provide necessary powerful tools used by scientists to understand the mysteries of matter, energy, space, and time by looking at the processes that work at the bigger, smaller, and faster scales.

About the Workshop

Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), an autonomous Centre of University Grants Commission under Ministry of Education, GOI, will host an online School-cum-Workshop on “Ion Beams in Sensor Development”. Sensors are all around us and in some way or the other we use them in our daily life. Ion beams can play a vital role in enhancing the sensing properties of sensors such as Gas Sensors, Bio-Sensors, Pesticide and Urea Sensors and Optical Sensors etc. The speakers will be from reputed Indian and foreign laboratories and Institutes. The workshop will provide an exposure to the research scholars, the young faculty members and researchers of various Institutes / Universities working in the similar advanced field of Sensor applications on how the material properties can be modified using ion beams.
